Handmade Unique Jewelry
Silver is one of the world's most useful metals as well as one of the world's most valuable metals. Most silver jewelry is silver combined with other metals; we use .950 sterling silver, which is the purest silver available in jewelry, a blend of 95% silver and 5% copper. A good way to prevent tarnish in your jewelry is to wear it; wearing and handling will slow the oxidation process and keep your jewelry shiny and new looking. Oxidation does occur, especially with sulfur and oxygen, causing silver to become tarnished. We suggest to use silver polishing cloths available at major supermarkets, hardware stores or jewelry stores. To minimize scratches you would store jewelry in cloth pouches, small plastic bags and if you own a jewelry box, put them in their own compartment.
Our
silver jewelry is created by Pilar Achury and Albiero Castro, who
belong to a coalition of Colombian artisans sponsored by the Colombian
government in an effort to promote trade in handicrafts. Our designs
are contemporary; we work with Murano crystals, nitrilo, and stainless
steel chokers covered by a thin almost invisible vinyl.
At Adoros, we are passionate about what we do; our goal is to offer you truly beautiful handmade unique jewelry and a pleasant shopping experience.
We are certain some of the most beautiful jewelry is still made by hand. There are hundreds of artisans selling handmade unique jewelry at various events and shows throughout the year; support them next time you see them by purchasing a piece or sharing with others their work.
We
work directly with skillful designers and artists from Colombia
who make our pre-Columbian jewelry and silver jewelry. We are selective
on the jewelry we offer, and we work only with the artists that
share the same passions with us, for beauty and craftsmanship. At
Adoros, we pay close attention to details, quality, design and make.
