Collectible Unique Dolls
Dolls
have been a part of humankind since the beginning of times. Used
to depict religious figures or used as playthings, early dolls were
probably made from primitive materials such as clay, fur, or wood.
Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary describes a doll as - "a
small-scale figure of a human being used specially as a child's
plaything."
Although most
dolls are now mass-manufactured using modern materials such as plastic
and vynil, many modern doll makers are using the traditional materials
of the past to make collectible dolls.
On trips to
Colombia, we enjoy buying one of a kind hand painted wood boxes,
hand made collectible unique dolls, molas and other handicrafts.
Adoros carries a few handmade unique gifts or home décor
pieces for various occasions and holidays. Select from small oil
paintings, gift boxes, or a framed Madonna and child hand carved
on tin and adorned with stones. We hope you find Adoros handmade
unique gifts, treasures to share or to keep.
One of my favorite
magazines is the Crafts Report. There are always great articles
on handmade unique jewelry, handmade unique gifts, and just about
anything you want to know about artisans. Whether you are an artisan,
an artist or an art lover, you are sure to find something interesting
to read in this magazine. I invite you to enjoy fine artisan work
by visiting www.craftsreport.com and/or subscribing to their magazine.
